Joshua L. Schulman (MFA Boston University) is a lighting designer who has been living and creating in Philadelphia since 2003. Coming from a theatrical background, problem solving is second nature to him. Joshua was the winner of the 2008 Barrymore Award for his lighting design of Art at Delaware Theatre Company and was 2009 nominee for his design of Rock ‘N’ Roll at the Wilma Theatre. He has taught at Temple University, Arcadia University, Washington College, and Penn State (Berks campus). In 2013, Joshua travelled to Rwanda in to teach lighting design, color theory, and basic science to street children in conjunction with Mindleaps. Joshua has spent the last few years working for a production company as their resident draftsman and designer. Projects have included the papal visit to Washington, DC and Philadelphia, Wawa Welcome America 4th of July on the Parkway, the Made In America festival, and many more.
David S. Todaro is a lighting designer and production specialist who has been interested in creating experiences through light since a young age. David has a BA in Theatre Design/Technology from DeSales University. As a Philadelphia area native, he decided to pursue a career here in Philly. David has designed the lighting for several theatre and dance productions in Philadelphia over the years and his design work has taken him all over the country with other Philadelphia based artists, as well as artists from Canada, Mexico, Germany, the U.K., and Norway. David has also worked with FringeArts (formerly the Philadelphia Fringe Festival) for the past decade. With FringeArts, David has supervised the production of several large shows and artists from around the world. His talents span from creating venues in abandoned warehouses to transforming the Armories on 23rd and 33rd street. David has extensive experience in modifying and working with site specific spaces. David also brings experience working with international artists and their needs. David has spent a portion of his career designing and managing corporate events, many have been across the U.S., but also to Canada, Mexico, and Australia as well. All of these experiences speak to his passion and drive to generate and share ideas. This passion for lighting, creation, and collaboration drives him in all of his work.
